Dreaming of You
Taikobo walked through the yards of the Shuu castle, dwelling in thoughts. It was late, only a few guards stayed up, almost as though he was the only one in the world. He felt as though he was free to think what he wanted, and worry by himself.
Late at night when all the world is sleeping

His mind kept on going back to the scene he'd seen earlier that day. It was not that unusual, he knew it happened, but he didn't know it would effect him that. The vision of Youzen talking to one of the maids. Why? Taikobo wondered to himself. Since his family died he never developed a strong attachment to anyone or anything. Till he met Youzen……

Taikobo thought of the first time he had seen Youzen genuinely smile. It was right after they had met up in Senninnkai, after Dokouson took Hekiunn back. Taikobo had been talking about what he planned in the Houshin Project and Youzen had smiled out of no where. He said that it was because Taikobo was worthy of the project and his thoughts were confirmed. The smile, was not forced or plastered, like his usual smile is.

Taikobo hugged himself, as tears threatened to over flow. He had vowed to avenge the deaths of his clan, he had taken so many innocent lives in the name of revolution and reform, he wasn't worthy of being loved…..yet…..yet…..for now, he wanted to let his emotions overflow, with the love he felt for Youzen.

If it were allowed he wanted to stay like this forever, let himself be like other humans. To live with the one they loved till death did they part. It was impossible though, his life had already been dedicated to something else. He didn't want to fall in love, but he did, and….now, he wanted nothing more than to stay out here and dream about the impossible.

The next day Taikobo walked down to the hallway when he saw Youzen walking this way. Forcing a smile to show that nothing was wrong, he walked up to him. He had heard the rumors about Youzen and his way with women in Senninnkai, no matter what it was inevitable that Taikobo would get hurt. Besides, why would Youzen want Taikobo when he could have almost any woman he desired.

"Suusu, I had a question about this part." Youzen showed him the report Taikobo had put together the other day.
"Oh that." Taikobo muttered and proceeded to explain in more detail what he was trying to write. "Sorry, I know my hand writing is sloppy." Taikobo apologized.
"I like it, it's original and so……you." Youzen smiled at him and Taikobo felt his heart skip a beat. His eyes started to cloud over, his feelings ready to burst.
"I better get going." Taikobo declared and walked past him to his office. The memory of Youzen smiling though refused to be erased from his memory.

He practically fell into his chair, his heart was pounding so loud. If only he could forget about these feelings, he could consentrate on what needed to be done. Yet all he could think of was what it would feel like to have Youzen's arms wrapped around him and to hear him whisper the three magical words into his ear. They were all in his mind though, never would they happen in real life.

Another story was heard today. That one of the maids confessed her feelings to Youzen and was turned down. It was nothing unusual, yet Taikobo envied her courage. He could barely manage to look Youzen into the eye, this girl went up to him and told him her feelings. He could only hope and fear the day when he would gather the courage to say those words to Youzen…..
"Youzen………I………….." He started to say but lowered his head and shook it. A single tear rolled down his cheek. "……..if only you knew……."
So I wait for the day (wait for the day)

Taikobo was in his room, sitting on his bed, gazing out in the stars. He had heard his mother tell him once that the stars knew all that was going on and could fortell the future, because of that power, a shooting star would inform other stars of your wish and grant it. If that were true, Taikobo thought, I would hunt down every single star and wish that…someday….

The night was on his side. He was allowed to think of what he wanted, no one would dare to contradict him, for now he could dream and hope that when the time came he would.. so

Today, this time he wasn't Shuu's Military commander or the conductor of the Houshin Project, just one small person in this big universe, pining for a love, just like so many others were at this time.

Taikobo smiled sadly to himself as he took another sip of his sake. Maybe it was useless for him to try and forget Youzen. He couldn't stop thinking about him, and he kept on dreaming what it would be like to be in those strong arms of his.

~A month later~
Taikobo lay awake in bed as he smiled contently and felt at peace for the first time in a long, long while. It wasn't exactly night time yet there was still time till morning came, even few of the guards were awake at this hour, and for sure no others were awake.
Late at night when all the world is sleeping
Taikobo's mind drifted back to a month ago, when he felt like he was going to explode with the secret love he had kept inside of himself for so long. Back then he never thought that the day would come, when he could think of Youzen with a peace of mind.

~Flash Back~
'Suusu, may I please have a word with you?' Youzen came up to Taikobo and asked. Taikobo managed to nod his head, yet continued to look down so he didn't see the look of hurt that crossed Youzen's face. 'Can we please go to my room then?' Youzen asked and all Taikobo could do was nod, again.
'Suusu, I know that I have been a burden to you.' Youzen stated as soon as they both entered his room. Taikobo snapped his head up in surprise at that statement. 'I am very sorry for what ever inconvinience I have caused you or that I would cause but…'
And I still can't believe
'There is something that I have to tell you, I can no longer keep it from you.' Youzen grabbed Taikobo's chin and pushed it up so that he could look into Taikobo's eyes. 'Suusu, you are so forgiving and understanding, so is it no wonder that I…'

Taikobo looked down at Youzen that was sleeping next to him. This was a dream come true. He felt as if all of his pain and suffering were meant just for him to realize how special one person could mean to him.
"….Suusu?" Youzen stirred and looked at him sleepily. "Have you been awake all this…?"
"……I guess." Taikobo replied with a smile.
"It's too early." Youzen reached up and took Taikobo into his arms. "A few more hours or….so…….." Youzen fell asleep while he was talking and Taikobo sighed.
"Good night Youzen……." Taikobo fell asleep soon after that.

A song fic to go along with La Reina de Tejano, Selena's song Dreaming of You. I love that song and wanted to write a fic about it ever since I first heard it. So here it is. a short sweet fluff of Youzen and Taikobo.
